Sunflower Graduation Photos: Know Before You Go

Recently I took my first trip to a sunflower field and absolutely loved it. I could not help but think of a better place to take graduation photos than in a sunflower field.

Sunflowers are such a friendly reminder to stand tall, look towards a bright future, and let the shadows of your past fall behind you. Which is just one of the many reasons why I think they are great accent for your graduation photos.

Love sunflowers as much as I do? Why not decorate your grad cap with them?

Here are 3 things to keep in mind to get the most out of your sunflower graduation photos.

What to Wear

Keep in mind, although you will be in a beautiful picturesque field, you are still in a field of sunflowers, that bees love. and poison ivy grows.

I highly recommend wearing boots not only because they look great in photos but because they are great for protecting your feet and legs.

Chances are it will also be pretty hot out, so throw on a sundress or a cute top that you know you won’t get too hot in.

Decorate your graduation cap in a sentimental way.

These photos will be shown off on Instagram and re-shared for years to come when they pop up in your Facebook memories.

Might as well make them tug at some heart strings, right?

A decorated graduation cap not only is a great way to show your personality, but a great way to make your photos that much more personal.

Hire a local photographer.

I highly recommend hiring a local photographer for your graduation photos. This is one investment I would not cut corners on when it comes to celebrating your graduation.

Not only will you be supporting a local aspiring small business, but you will receive some high quality photos to cherish for a lifetime.

Pro tip: Professional photos look 10x better hanging next to a fancy diploma frame than an over-filtered, grainy selfie.

Even if you aren’t graduating until next year, I hope this post helps you prepare for your graduation photos. You deserve the absolute best for accomplishing your big goal of graduating.

Not sure if sunflowers are your style, but want to decorate your graduation cap for your photos?
